Each part of a session is special for me – the intro-get-settled talk in the beginning, setting my intention, the conscious breathing and then the meditation.  Over the past year my Breathworks sessions have helped me heal and grow.  Three powerful sessions come to mind almost immediately. One helped me transform an emotional block I have carried with me since adolescence that was preventing me from fully engaging in relationships today. Another one helped me integrate self-acceptance and self-love with the love and acceptance I so often receive from the people in my life and the world around me. I came to breathwork out of a necessity to come to terms with suppressed feelings from my childhood.  My first few sessions revealed so much of myself emotionally and physically that I am now learning to accept who I am.  I quickly discovered just how tense and locked my body had become after decades of denying my feelings and emotions.  I’ve seen through breathwork that other people do not change but, in contrast, it is really ourselves that change.  By being aware of our breath, by alternately controlling and relaxing our breath we bring our whole body into balance physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  And by combining breathwork with my yoga practice has brought me to a clearer understanding of myself and my place in the Universe.       Kathy

I attended my first Kundalini Yoga class after reading a book about our chakra energy centers and the need to awaken the serpent (Kundalini) that lies dormant in my root chakra.  I was hooked from the first class by the warmth of the teacher, the class structure, the technology behind the exercises and mantra meditations.  Practicing KY over the last year has helped me strengthen my physical body and spiritual identity, heal from past emotional wounds and also brought me to a new community of beautiful people on the spiritual path. Through Kundalini Yoga I have learned to listen to my inner wiser voice and I’ve become more aware of my own energy.  It has taught me how to find my center and to call on the inner strength that was always there but had never been tapped.  The exercises help to awaken a tired body and mind and bring a new feeling of awareness and vitality, while the meditations have taken me to a deeper, quieter place within.  Kundalini Yoga has taught me how to smile again; in the past, smiling was a physical act that I had to think about.
